Elisabeth is an experienced attorney–mediator known for her calm, practical and efficient approach to resolving conflict. She began her legal career as an employment litigator, developing strong advocacy skills by studying both sides of each case. Her understanding of how disputes evolve both inside and outside the courtroom are insights she now uses to help parties assess risk, value claims and reach resolution.
She then spent much of her career as in-house counsel for the California State University system, advising on a wide range of legal and policy issues, including managing litigation. While the majority of her practice focused on employment matters, over 20 years as university counsel she handled a broad range of issues, including contracts, business and real estate transactions, housing development and management, police, First Amendment, legislative and NAGPRA issues. This diversity strengthened her ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics and communicate across differing perspectives, shaping the resourceful, adaptive problem-solving she offers clients today.
Later in her career, Elisabeth built a respected investigation practice, acting as a neutral conducting workplace and Title IX investigations. Her reputation for unbiased and thorough fact-finding continues to inform her reasonable and resourceful approach to mediation, particularly in emotionally charged and high stakes matters.
Elisabeth also spent several years outside traditional legal practice as a community-based, small business owner where she helped local artists sell and teach their trades. This further broadened her understanding of real-world workplace dynamics and business ownership. This experience deepens her ability to connect with clients on all sides.
